Boží Dar
Boží Dar is the highest situated town in Central Europe. It lies on the Czech-German border, at the Boží Dar/Oberwiesenthal border crossing. The town is a much-sought-for winter sport center. Its surroundings is scattered with a number of resorts that have gained popularity with our as well as foreign tourists. In summer, the Boží Dar region is an ideal destination for hiking and cycling.
- Founded: Boží Dar was founded by Saxon Prince Elector Johann Friedrich. Like Jáchymov, this town was established to serve mining purposes. In the 16th century, rich ore yards were found here.
